Yellow Necklace - Hypoallergenic

Yellow is not very typically my choice of color to wear... Yet recently I have found myself enjoying working with yellow yarn, yellow polymer clay, and yellow paint. Really it is a beautiful positive color of Sun and many flowers - carries the summer spirit very well. And I hear is also good for the appetite!

This yellow necklace is either a close fit choker or a short necklace. It can be adjusted to 3 different sizes - there are 3 loops for the button. This necklace has no metal components - I designed this piece thinking of those who suffer metal allergies. The pendant, and the button clasp are both made of polymer clay.

Tiny Brooch In Polymer

Over the years I have invented all sorts of complicated solutions for my jewelry only to find something that is so ridiculously simple many years later. This tiny piece of polymer clay has a brooch pin glued on it back side - and voila - a brooch has been born! Featuring the colors of Estonian flag - blue, black and white.

Take closer look to this Black and Blue Brooch in my Etsy shop!

Also my handmade jewelry has been featured in some lovely Etsy Treasuries that I wish to share now:
1) Beautiful and Bright by Canan
2) Seafoam by Ilse
3) Ocean Colors After the Storm by Veronika
4) My Life Is My Fav Movie by Aliquid

Thank You!

Games With Modelling Clay - Dangle Earrings

I have been playing with air drying modelling clay again. This time I have 'manufactured' few pairs of geometric shapes inspired dangle earrings. They are hand painted once more with marble effect paints and varnished. Light weight, playful and fun.

Really Not So 'Fair' At All

White Bridal Bead Embroidered Crochet Necklace

I have made quite few of this type of chokers, but I have always used colorurful materials. True - I have this one grey necklace with black beads... But mostly - pink, red, violet... This necklace is unique in a way it is absolotely white (a bit creamy) (and silver). I used white cotton yarn to crochet base lace, and decorated it with white glass pearls and beads. I also used some freshwater pearls on pendants. The neclace has lobster claw clasp and the size is adjustable with extension chain. I rarely say this - but I am quite happy with my work this time :-)

More photos and info about this white bridal bead embroidered crochet necklace is available in my etsy store.

Black Cat Promo Bone

Next weekend, we will be Stompin' at the Savoy - it's a blues festival @ the Savoy theatre in Helsinki, Finland. Among other events, there's a fair on Sunday the 15th: Maxwell Street Market in the theatre lobby, while bands keep playing next door at the Katsomo restaurant.

The fair runs from 11 to 5 p.m. and WE are going to be there with Roots Art Records, Romu amps, Liivamägi handwound guitar pickups, and special design T-shirts... AND I will also be taking some of my handmade jewellery!!!

Here's a slight glimpse at what I've got:

A selection of my handmade clay pendant necklaces. The Black Cat pendant and the Spades pendant were especially designed for those with the Blues or else born under a bad sign. And for those of you in the know: yes, the frog is also a music-related symbol ;)

In addition, I will be bringing pendants with abstract and decorative patterns painted on them. Whether those are good or bad luck charms, you can figure out yourselves :-)

Stay tuned - more previews coming tomorrow!

White & Silver

Round white pendant with spiral texture. The pendant is not painted - just varnished, and hangs on the silverplated chain. Simple design - not very like me I guess - since I always try to complicate my jewellery - to add that "my touch" to them...

In this pendant "my touch" would be the spiral pattern. I made that texturizer once to practice hidden magic technique with polymer clay... For that I have found better ways for now :-)

Handmade Buttons

Thanks to this new found button passion of mine I have started to make amends with polymer clay again. I had thought I have lost all control over this material for good, and nothing will ever again come out as pretty as I wish for... That is why I moved on to moddelling clay that has complitely other feel and techniques.

Recently I have started to take notice of handmade buttons everywhere. Weather polymer clay or ceramic - I like them! There are so many different styles and fantasy of the button artists seems to be endless... And of course it is always inspiring to view other peoples creations... So I figured I give it a try myself. The result:

Nine small polymer clay buttons with abstract pattern. Take a closer look at my shop.

Light Blue Choker

This light blue choker is first of it's kind among my crochet close fit necklaces because it is complitely metal free. I didn't use any metal comonents here - even the clasp has been replaced with ribbon.

The reason for experimenting like this is very simple - lot's of people I have met in this past few years while I have created jewellery have metal allergies. Most of them can wear silver and gold - true. But while I'm still thinking about silversmithing I thought I might spend some time with inventing ways around using metals at all...

Black and White Spiral Bracelet and Polymer Clay

Black and white together are just so beautiful. Even though when working with polymer clay it is mostly about colors - I sometimes like to play with the concept of leaving the colors out complitely.

Violet Jewellery Set

It is the kind of everyday jewellery set: round pendant on a crochet string and simple marquise bead earrings.

Pendant and earrings are both made of moddelling clay. Seems that is my favorite material to work with these days. I even got an idea for a way fancier jewellery set but we'll see if I ever have the chance to finish it ;-)

[This jewellery set is SOLD]

Organza Flower Brooches

Don't you just miss spring? Hopefully we don't have to wait for very long now. Until then we can bloom with fake flowers :)

It was an interesting challenge to photograph this white one on white backround. I almost lost it there :)

These and many more of my creations are avilable at my Dawanda Webshop!

Marble Effect Clay Art Bead Earrings

An easy way to get non symmetrical painting on clay pendants is to use marble paints. The marbling itself is simple and fun, but it is not possible at all to controll the outcome. Everything sort of just happens.

This techique is also very much fun to practice with kids - to paint easter eggs for example (not the edible ones of course)...

Something old...

I don't exactly remember when I made these polymer clay earrings, but for some reason I still have them in my "drawer"*. For over the years I have sold many pairs of earrings on fairs or to my friends...

(Never had a successful web shop though -- a flaw I am about to try to fix now... Crossing fingers!)

I think these particular earrings haven't really had their true chance to shine yet. They probably got left home whenever I went to a fair with lots of other earrings that seemed more fancy. And also I have been modest when it comes to blogging - especially when it comes to showing my "early works".

Anyway here they are now... Black polymer clay rectangle earrings with flower texture on them. I used silver acrylyc paint to add a touch of pearly effect.

*Actually I keep my stuff in boxes ;-)

Most of my earrings and necklaces fit in. But not memory wire bracelets and bigger organza brooches.

Red and Black Memory Wire Bracelet

This classic color combination is definitely one of my favorites. I find miself coming back to it again and again. Large beads are handmade of polymer clay... I don't remember when I made them actually... Sometimes I just make more than I need and find them useful much later.

Wire Crochet Earrings

One of my most popular products is this type of earrings:

I have made about 8 pairs or so all together using different colors and beads to decorate them... And people seem to love them. I do like when people enjoy my creations. Even if they are a bit painful to make like these earrings in fact are - the wire is hard enough on fingers. Couldn't really mass produce these even if i wanted to ;-)
